This is a wonderful artwork. The composition, colors, activity and bright airy feel to it makes for a fantastic painting. Reading your comments on the people and process of this paint I can totally identified with you.. same thing for me when I place a tripod and take shots. I like how this is a very creative self portrait of you painting already a landscape. A fave for me…. I just love the story and feel of this artwork. :-)

  • Virginia McGowan replied

Eyal just a wonderful compliment. thank you.

thanks ginnmac i wish you did too, i have a real pal in ozzieland, i,d love to see her and hir hubby, they live in noosa? where ever that is? i have done about 200 plates and vases, they are fun to do, but sadly for all the time you put into them, you can,t get you time invested back in selling them, but i did them for my late wife, i love art and haved tried all the different ways i made some busts too, just to have them well, again thanks for you words and have a great art life, i have!!

  • Virginia McGowan replied

Noosa is not far, about 2 hours drive form us. a few here live near there. Brisbane is the Capital of Queensland is in between,, there is a “good” freeway all the way.

  • chamo

    chamo

I love paintings with paintings with in it seems to some how add time to the image Its like adding proof that the image did exist before the painting was done .. does this make sense ,? its kind of hard to ex plain. Any way I have checked out all of your art here on rb what a terriffic collection, very impressive and varied as well and being so varied means you or your art will NEVER brcome boring and you paint in real time and that makes art invalueable. great stuff ,,keep on arting..

  • Virginia McGowan

    Virginia McGowan

chamo, I am deeply touched by your wonderful comments. I do know what you mean about a painting within a painting.Regarding a varied collection, thankyou ,I never seem to be able to paint the same way from one day to the next. I guess like most painters I am always looking for ‘my’ way of doing works. Although I really blame the canvases the quality and what you can buy changes all the time. ...
so I never really know what will happen.

This work inspired me to go on a “paint out” with some friends and despite being bitten by bugs, harassed by March flies and a few rain showers, it was most enjoyable and I managed to get a couple of nice sketches done. So thanks for that ginnymac!

  • Virginia McGowan replied

Artline! I find I can ‘see’ much better looking at the scene in real life.
the painting I have of “Egg Rock” I only took pastel paper, full sheet, got all set up and down came the rain. OOh those awful March flies they drove me mad on Fraser Island,Aparetly they are there most of the year too.
Hope to see what you’ve done!

Imagine me inspiring somebody! thankyou !
