Mermaid Beach ,My special spot

Mermaid Beach ,My special spot

SLS Flags and lifesaver tower can be seen in the middleground...

.The Beach at the end of William Street, [Hedges Ave] where I spent most days swimming before breakfast ,afternoons, and just plain lying around. Before any towers or flags were around too, also dogs were allowed on the beach anytime ….
this is where I go and sit and breathe in the fresh salty air watch the swimmers, surfers and walkers after a visit to the medical center /shopping which is nearby.
Burleigh Headland can be seen in the background.

  • Virginia McGowan replied

Well so do I! I loved living so close…Most locals I know got ‘pushed’ out …

Very envious – I adore the beach and will certainly be pushing my husband to retire close to the sea – anywhere in the world. However, Mermaid Beach does look particularly inviting. Fabulous capture.
