    I’ve never been to either of those States so you’ll have to rely on your memory ! :) Do you take photographs of things so that you can paint that way too, or just from the minds eye ?

    gee I only just noticed your question James….[ doing a bit of editing on my files]. anyway…... A…..I mostly make a sketchy sketch, write things with arrows e.g.really blue sky, long grass,sun position …. In this case though I took a photo it was 1968 and way before I started to paint .I only had a box brownie.I got the pic blown up when I got home.I really dislike using just photos as they never give enough detail and the shadows are always just that,dark blobs,even if I don’t want detail I like to see the full spectrum .and also what is going on around .

    thanks so much ,my husband went that way again recently but couldn’t find them the roads may have been r-routed though these are larger than I have painted them , they are or were gigantic I had to do it from an old photograph taken in 1968 before I started painting … sorry I am late in replying

    thanks so much Lorna, it took weeks to do the branches the framer who has an art gallery as well said it must have driven me mad1 but I really enjoyed paint ing it.

    well this, or these are / is the biggest ever love to find it again. I am going to do another painting one day I have a canvas 150×50 should be more suitable I can fit more in did you see the kids at the base?? they were around 12 and 10 years old taken with a box brownie 1968.
