thanks Bea it’s hard to see in this probably the lolour on the photograph and pc…but the rock on the left centre [black] is a waterfall which only the foolhardy slide downfirst into the hollow then right down into the pool.

  • Virginia McGowan replied

thanks Jim it’s a rather older one I used to paint and gave up for years to paint and sew clothing, and this is one I did when getting back again, I think if I did it now it would be a lot different ,interesting to see what I would do !

Hi I am just about to go and do some work LOL! Just caught me here….thanks so much! one thing is, I wouldn’t have so many scratchy brush strokes and colour in the foreground rocks I would also make the water look deeper as it is,right at the edge of the ‘slide’ the brushstrokes in the swirls or the deep green are a bit undisciplined too the background may nothing? but years ago canvas was excellent quality , now they are absolutely almost useless unless paying huge amounts of money which now I am not working I haven’t any… some are okay but a lot are only cheap garbage! I used to pay around $100 a roll of 6 yards , of beautiful canvas now it’s hundreds . I am sure it makes a difference to the finish .. for me anyway,,
