This one is great along with many others in your art collection. You are a very talented artist. Have you done anything with the observatory at the Warrumbungles, or have you just stayed with “nature”?
Virginia McGowan replied
thanks Ian, I was very baffled with the observatory, I had some idea it was possible to walk into and up to the top of it, but all we got to see was some pics. I guess I show ignorance as to what is available to non scientists.Maybe you need to book?? Anyway we just camped amongst the kangaroos etc,and did a bit of walking. I can’t walk far or for long but I did enjoy getting up before dawn to take some pics.[from the camping ground] I have a couple here] I did a sketch from the tourist centre of this scene and worked at home later for this .
I did some other sketches from the top of some walk, but haven’t used them .
gosh long winded! I should have just said no and yes!

Fantastic! Those trees in the bottom foreground set the perspective. Beautifully done!
Virginia McGowan replied
thanks love the park it was very cold early in the morning too when we were there.
I suppose you have sold the pic?
rightasrain
Forgot – I did an oil painting of the Warrumbungles years ago. It’s such a vibrant area, even in the cold when we went!
rightasrain
No I haven’t – I still have the original and it was just a bit of fun for myself. I haven’t sold any of my work except for cards here but no originals have sold. I just muck around with paints.
