Photograph of family Great Auntie looking angelic for the camera I believe only for the camera though.

Original old photograph of a family Aunt taken in 1915 this looks so beautiful in the flesh! and would look beautiful in a poster form and framed in an antique style.

Hi R D It is a scan old photo of my Husbands Aunt probably taken around 1916 in Newcastle
the Charlston Studios Hunter Street. I bet the horse would be worth a lot now if stilll around.

  • Virginia McGowan replied

thanks Merran, yes it’s is fabulous pic.My daughter had it reproduced 20 years ago, I think she got it done in a large size, the original is not much larger than a post card, beautifully backed.

This is a family treasure . many years ago all the family wanted to get hold of it ,and I had it hidden * ..now days with scanning etc would be easy for every one to have a copy [ *I knew most of the family would not pass it on and probably dump it ]

What a Great Image!that’s a beautiful rocking horse,I’ll bet it would worth a lot money & the little girl(& her expression) is priceless:-)

  • Virginia McGowan replied

thanks Robyn I guess it’s long gone now and I suppose it was the photographers prop too.Legend has it she put on a huge tantrum as soon as the pic was taken. I remember having mine done at around 4 years old ,and the beautiful doll I got to hold was taken away I really thought it was mine to keep.but being of a gently soul LOL I accepted the disappointment …
