They’re gorgeous birds … use to hand feed them when I was a child. About 7 of them were my families alarm clock too back in those days…lovely to wake up to their laughs of welcome :) Wonderful shot of the Ginny :)

What amazing handsome birds, they look very large.

  • Virginia McGowan replied

thanks for looking byron I guess they are 10-12 inches ?250 -300 cm tall they prey on babies birds though , pinch them out of the nests, but I guess that’s what nature does…. everybody here eats sombody else… I never have to use baits although we catch rats in traps and leave them on a fence [phew] and the goannas find them … or pythons ….

Oh what a lovely shot ginny! I love these birds. On saturday the noise was deafening on our property as they called to each other from tree to tree….just gorgeous.

  • Virginia McGowan replied

yes I had lots that day looking for food but these ones posed a bit better. don’t think they should be fed though the food gets stuck in their beaks and they rot away
