That’s the year I started surfing, and I had a board very similar to the one on the left ! A cool photo that would take a lot of people back in time !

I have no idea. many waves have gone under other boards since then. If I remember… the money that disapeared from my housekeeping with the amount of wax and extra fibreglass bought and used to fix the dings, almost hand made!
I will ask, but no guarantee of an answer.

I have scanned out another earlier pic with the larger board in it. [before it had wax plastered over it.]Looks like Richmond written in writing style.along the centre.I can’t quite make out the smaller one but it’s a square with printing on it.double line.towards the front. I got out the magnifying glass but the old print is not good quality.[if it’s called the front?? ] I emailed son but he probably woudn’t remember and I think the smaller one is daughters.
sorry but these are long gone! interesting collecting old boards.
I’ll get back if I have any more info.

thanks for commenting Deb nice bit of sunburn here too! somethng to think about looking back through dozens of old photos I still didn’t take enough of the kids , this is really only one of just three, no surfing pics at allI I guess with digital much easier now.

oh my gosh! 1970, had saved up enough money to buy my fist stick…a Robert August pin tail!
The effects you used for this image is perfect!
My home office is in the garage, i look up and lo and behold, 3 sticks. lol, a bit dinged up but ready to go! This is one of those images that just makes you feel good!

I asked my son what brand?? too many waves ago! ....Thanks Carlos, the original pic is past it’s used by date .so did this to the photo ..do you live near the waves? Son has swapped surfing for boating.I don’t have to pay anymore thankfully.
