Fleeting Fascinations

Once upon a quiet evening
Careful planning
Completely damned
Beyond the usual recourse, of course
And the normal circumstance
Came the realization
That a recent fascination
It’s complementary inspiration
…has left again

As I wonder if
I should enjoy the reprieve
Or grieve
The verses that once poured
And I so adored
I know…
My next muse is already waiting
Just as beautiful and captivating
And will soon arrive
From another place and time
To mesmerize
And preoccupy
Maybe remind
Bringing rhythm and rhyme

So as I look towards
And forward to
All that this might mean
And all this might do
To stir the words in this poet’s heart
Yet, cyclical
For I also know
You’ll come back again
In the rotation of fascinations
With a new layer of stimulation
…to write from

So until next time
Thank you
Have a great summer

This is wonderful. One of the most glorious things about Red Bubble is seeing how many writers get over writer’s block by writing fantastic poems

Can I ask, how have you been able to set this clear on paper? I really like it a lot, the words and the rythm, your story.. It fits great
