The Sun's Red Gown...

The Sun's Red Gown...

The sun donned her gown as she settled for the night,
Heaving her gold jewellery, she lay on her back and dreamt…

Will they miss me as I go? Will they wait for me?
I wander if the moon will show… as I go to sleep.

And as she donned that blood red gown,
All the creatures went to bed… save the fanged flying horrors,
who waited for this moment…

Away with thee! It’s time to feed!
By the light of moon!
You’ll burn us none, we are but dead! But now we are alive…

They fed by night with fangs dyed red…
Their gowns of black dyed too.
And yet this blood would not out-do,

The sun’s red gown in the clouds.
