I watched as this young male cougar pleaded for food, as the trainer talked about how this male should be living, and the sad look in his eyes took me aback, as I wondered how sad a life he must have, to depend on man to give him what should have become his natural instict to survive, what happens when there no more of these beauties in the wild, what will become of their species….....

that is sad to think about. Especially since cats are so independent. Great image though, way to be creative with those darned chainlink fences! although I would def want one between me and a cougar, but they are so ugly (the fences)in pics. You got a brill image out of it in spite of it!

magnificent image … and your musings match mine … I was asked recently about the zoo in Washington DC … and I had to frankly say, well, I haven’t been there in probably 15 years or so. Zoos are just … hard. I know they’re doing important work, that the animals are loved and well cared for … it’s just … hard!!!
