Buttons

Did you ever wonder why our elder folk collected buttons, and then some how you always seem to want them because they reminded you of that person, I have tons of them in bottles in plastic, in cardboard containers, between grandmother inlaws, grandma, and sometimes just random elder folk who some how took a liking to you and decided for some reason or another that you just needed the buttons. I have many colors of buttons and many designs, flower ones, the ones that used to go on those sailor outfits you just had to dress your kids in because once upon a time they looked so cute in them lol, think about it, or maybe take a look into your mothers or grandmothers sewing basket, you will see that and the many snaps that was used at one time you know the kind and the expander thingy that makes your bra fit, oh come on now you know exactly what I am talking about, oh and dont forget the zippers because at one time it was on sale and they just needed to have them even if they didnt ever use them….

I have the exact buttons!... the flower one missing its diamantes and the opaque one next to it! I am a jar of buttons person. Used to buy op shop garments for the buttons alone!

  • Virginia N. Fred replied

LOL all of my buttons are given to me, I have a lot of elder folk freinds and whenever one passes I am always left a jar or tin one lady gave me a big ole hat box full of them other things, I dont know why they leave them to me, but they do,and I cherish each one, they must have meant something to them at one point or another, so I am the keeper I guess lol, thanks so much for your comments…gina
