The Lone Ship by

Taken just as the sun was setting over The Pentland Hills behind Edinburgh, with Arthur`s Seat in the foreground. One lone ship can be seen. This was shot from the north side of the Firth of Forth at Elie, in Fife, Scotland, just at the end of winter.

Nikon D90, with Tamron AF 70-300mm lens at 300mms
SS. 1/200s, f/10.0, ISO 200

Nice moody shot. The rain falling in the mid-upper left adds to the atmosphere.

  • Yeh, it was one of these evenings when it didn`t know what to do. Thanks very much.

Breath taking, so wel done all around.

  • Thanks heaps Randy. I think it is about sixteen miles across the water from where I was standing, but the setting sun seemed to distort the distance.
