“Don’t be stupid!”

Some people came into this world just to help others fulfill their true potential.
I mean, they keep telling you how far you are from your true potential, so that you’ll immediately get back on the road to perfection.
They say: “Don’t be stupid!”
And you say: “Sure thing, thanks for reminding me!” and immediately become smarter.
Or they say: “Why do you always have to speak so loud?!”
And you say: “Never thought of it… thanks sooo much for your loving remark!” and from that moment on you speak softly, till other people ask: “Pardon, what did you say?”
If these people are your lover or life-partner, they may go as far as to kindly tell you that “You smile like a frog, your breath stinks, you have three new wrinkles and ten new white hairs and you look ten years older than your older sister…” Then you know it’s true love speaking out their throats. I mean, whoever would stay your friend, lover or partner with all these faults, if it weren’t for true love?

    Thats what i tell my wife, honesty is not always appreciated, an angry women can be a frightening thing. ha ha

  • Gili Orr replied

    Honesty is overestimated by some;-) anger is a better way of dealing with too much of it pushed down your throat than depression, anyway… though humor is even better, I guess… mmm… not always, either. some people may get dangerous if you smile while they put you down.
    I assume your comment was pure humor… lol.

    It was. I don’t comment unless invited, then i’m not responsible if they don’t like it. On the other hand you can trust that if I say its good that IS what I think. Swings and roundabouts.

    I am quite honest myself, by the way;) I hardly ever lie, only a few times in my life that I can recall, in self defence. However, yes, like you say about yourself, I try not to share my negative observations with people unless specifically asked… sometimes I do it also when I am not asked (but choose my words carefully, not to be hurtful) if I think it may be helpful in causing a positive change. Most of the time no change can be expected, so why just hurt people’s feelings?
    As to GOOD feedback – that’s always good… I think;
    ) and I am happy to know that if you say you like one of my works you really mean it. I think people know by now that it’s true about me, too…
