wow! dali-esque. the interaction between the two figures is intense :)

  • Gili Orr replied

Thanks, Dan! Yes, I can see why you call it dali-esque;-) If I was influenced, it was not on a conscious level, though.

Oh…. when one is left out…the soul is thinning is such a way..dessintegrating the impetus of the love previousle felt.
We had such an experience last year with our younger son. He was “left out” and the feeling by who were supossed to be their best friends… and all of sudden he was there “thinning out” wihout his love and his friends… We were there to help…it was devastating.
What I love here…..besides everything, is the “left out” figure.. the brain completely burdened by the dark thoughts and feelings. Yes… the feeling is there weighing like a lead cloud…and the body absolutely uprooted from the reality of its essence.
    A real great work Gilli..
I feel happy for I start to recognize your works just from the thumbnail…you have a particular style and energy, Gilli…good!!!
    Have a hug!!
I have fancied… too that the puntillistic technique you use for the shadow is really organic…the little dots seem like crowded flocks of birds, or nests of insects….it gives a sense of movement, intensity and life that can even be disquieting.

You always pay so much attention to nuances in your comments, Rosa, that it’s a delight to read them and feels like you are really “listening” to what I’m saying or hinting. Thanks a lot for that! Sorry about the experience of your son. On the other hand, it gave you all the possibility for getting closer to each other… there may have some other positive things coming of this crisis time, too… crises cause a lot of pain but a lot of times give something, open new possibilities or push for a long-needed change… big hug!!

wow.. this is fantastic. i am not so good at words to be honest.. that is why i keep my comments short.. but this.. wow.. that intense, thick emotion between the couple and that horrible sadness of the left-out figure.. it is brilliantly captured…. gives me goose-bumps even though it is blistering hot here… :)

  • Gili Orr replied

Oh, what a great comment! Thanks sooo much, Mimu!

    Thanks Gilli..
It did give him enormous possibilities… in just one year he has prepared two and half theatre plays, all by himself…. and now is going to work teaching performing ateliers in a private school. Not having founf another love…but well first I guess he had to earn to leve himself. And yes…. it did gave us all the chance of being evven closer that we had been before… which was really good.
A hug for you… I am really fond of your art. Love your drawings.

Glad to hear all that, Rosa! Crises can be chances, if well handled… and with your loving support, it indeed turned out to be;-)
