    Great photo. I am glad you called it a koala and not a koala bear. Many people get this wrong. They are not a bear.

    Thanks for the compliment, Jen! Yep, I almost wrote “koala bear”, just from habit, but I know it is not. Don’t remember at the moment what you call this family of mammals with a baby in their front pocket, though…. You have such unique creatures down there…

    They are called marsupials. Kangaroos also come into this category. Did you also know that a kangaroo can retain an embryo inside if there is a drought and then ‘give birth’ when things are better.
