Scanned dia processed in DAP AOP Bierstadt, impression Florence Corot. The arenas were probably built first half of the first Christian century. At that time the amphitheatre was higher as it was constructed on an elevation whereas now it seems to be under the level of the street as all the antique monuments from the fact of the progressive elevation of the region of the plain of the river Pô. It was used for gladiator fights and wild animal fights. Nowadays it functions as opera.It can contain 22000 spectators.
