This is a fun photo.
I replaced my great grand uncle’s head by Arun’s and uncle’s painting by Arun’s real sketch.
Photo taken in the International Exhibition of 1885 in Antwerp.
My great grand uncle, Constant Cap, stayed painting in the exhibition long after closing time to immortalize the architecture of Old Belgium which would be destroyed after. the exhibition closed.
No digital photos at that time!!
Four years secretarial work.Retired.

Hoe heb je dat gedaan Gilberte…..met photoshop? Heel kunstzinnig, leuk die combinatie van oud en nieuwe foto!
Ja hoe heb ik het gedaan…! Het was een nachtmerrie….in een programma dat ik niet kende..stap voor stap geleerd en als het af was wilde ik het saven maar kreeg een bericht:“does not support this file” en alles was verdwenen!! Het werk van een ganse namiddag.Heb mijn avondmaal dan maar genomen en nadien alles herbegonnen in Photoshop CS5 met andere tools.Vallen en opstaan tot ik aan dit resultaat gekomen ben.

Wat erg Gilberte….een hele namiddag nog wel! In ieder geval heb je nu een mooi resultaat!
Ja tot 7 uur….ik was stijf van in the computer stoel te zitten en mijn rechter hand scheen gezwollen van de muis te hanteren….ik had mijn haar uit mijn hoofd kunnen trekken.Ben blij dat ik toch de moed vond om in PS te herbeginnen.Of mijn model er nu blij gaat mee zijn, weet ik niet…hij is zo slank en elegant en ik zet zijn hoofd op het lijf van een oude man! Ik wacht wel af. In ieder geval bedankt dat jij het een mooi resultaat vindt.

Thanks a lot Biddumy….there are no paintings being destroyed.It’s the village itself that will be demolished.It has been built to last only the time of the exhibition.It was so nice and looked so real…you could walk in it…so my uncle wanted to immortalize it by his paintings.They have been sold or in a museum…I don’t know who is ther proprietar

Must have been a lot of fun creating it
Yes should have been.the first day I worked on the sketch.The next day till 7 at night for the head.When I was satisfied I wanted to save it and it seemed impossible.The file was not compatible they said but I had to save it not in jpg.So I did and…everything was gone.I could have pulled my hair out of my head.
After supper I restarted in photoshop till mifnight and that’s what you see lol
