Then I took it away as I had put it on just for fun.

Beautiful image Betty and that’s an unusually coloured purple and white snail too. Goes well with the yellow rose. A similar race here is coloured white and black or white and grey and even white and brown. Over here most are poisoned because of the harm they do to crops. In Sicily they are considered a delicacy and are eaten!
Thanks a lot Tony for your elaborate comment.In fact the snail was beige and brown..very beautiful..Don’t know why it turned out dark blue on my pc instead of dark brown but i liked the colour harmony and left it.I took this shot rather late in the evening, no more sun.
I may not think of eating it! I tried to kill this one with salt and boiling water and kept the house.I have sewn hundreds of petunias and several times when I planted them out, the next day they were eaten by snails. But I never see the snails on the plants.Sometimes I replanted three times.Now I bought blue granulates against snails.It is rather effective.
