When the young sailor boy waited in the harbour for the repair of his ship, he met a girl, oh so sweet, and for him the world suddenly seemed bright and gay until he heard the vessel’s siren calling the sailors aboard for the departure.
“Oh no” he said “I don’t want to go”.
The end of the story I leave to your imagination….

Beautifully done, Gilberte! I just know he went! Men always go off to work…….I pray he came home safely! It is just the way of the sea!

  • Thanks Sue…I think you’re right….they have a sense of duty…and after all such a handsome young man will find as many girls as he wants whereas the girl will always keep a soft place in her heart for her handsome young lover
