Hello Maddy..thank you for visiting and favoriting this shot. It’s a holiday souvenir! XX
What a beautiful scene, well captured
Thank you Susan for popping in.Yes it’s beautiful entering Portofino from the sea
Looks like a lovely location Gilberte. Before writing I checked to see where Portofino is on the Map of Italy (Internet) and found it, so close to many other villages along the northwest coastal area. With all those mountains in the background the geography must be quite similar to that further south (south of Napoli).Looks like sailboats pulled up onto the beach. Were you lucky enough to go for a sail?
Good evening Warren…This was an excursion we made coming from Alassio, Finale Ligure Genova Rappalo. We took a motor boat at Rappalo to go to Portofino. It was very hot and when at sea there was a sudden storm; we were bounding over the waves.A lot of fun when you are young! It was a beautiful view approching the little harbour of Portofino. We went in the mountains to Santa Margheritawhere Rex Harrison (I think it was him..40 years ago) had a big pink villa. We came back by motor boat.Too dangerous to sail.
Such a photogenic spot – I love the larger boats on either side framing the harbour. Well composed!
Hi Rosalie..now we meet in Italy…such a nice place to be…Glad you like the little harbour
Beautiful scenery, excellent shot Gilberte F. Love it!!
Hello Marvin..Beautiful scenery..yes I could sing: “que reste-t-il de ces beaux jours?” Just a photo to help our ageing memory.Gilberte F
Just me again Gilberte. I had another look at this very typical Italian coastal village and noticed something on the far right (something we see everywhere in villages such as this). Laudry hanging out to dry from the 1st. and 2nd. story windows.
a lovely port! good photo
Thanks Susan..it is a great souvenir for me.
So, we got a geography lesson, biography lesson and photography lesson, pretty good for one photo huh? Gilberte… This could make a great gigsaw puzzle! Thanks for sharing.
