Lisboa City by

Nightshot of Lisbon from the Marriott Hotel. Taken from the 17th floor balcony at dusk using a Canon EOS 7D with a Sigma 10-20 at 30 seconds and F10 apperture. I left my tripod in the hotel room, but loved the light and decided to make the most of it and rested my camera on the wall using the remote trigger which I fortunately did have in my camera bag :)..

The white line accross the sky is a airplane coming in to land at the international airport closeby.

The photo is as is with only the watermark being added at time of saving the RAW image as JPG using Lightroom.

About Gideon van Zyl

I started on a little Kodak Instamatic camera when I was quite small and eventually started with SLR photography on my Dad’s old Pentax Spotmatic in the late ’70s.

Photographers like Yousuf Karsch, Annie Leibowitz who have grown up in the age of film and have captured the world inspire me, whereas modern digital photographers and techniques challenge me to always renew what I am doing and how I am looking at things.
