twist and rain
I did it…..downloaded a CS4 trial and gave this the treatment. What do you think?
Entered in the texture challenge for the Fine Art Composites group
I used two of the provided textures – plaster and splatter. With the plaster layer I adjusted the colours and reduced the opacity over a white background. I used the splatter layer twice having inverted it first. I also reduced the opacity of each splatter layer. I placed the figure above the plaster layer and beneath the splatter layers. I then erased the background of the figure layer and selectively used dodge and burn tools. Finally I erased parts of the two splatter texture layers.
twist and rain belongs to the following groups:

Nifty work, but I sorta like the original.
No – not fair – each must be considered individually,
so, Bravo!
Soxy Fleming!
thank you for the appraisal. Fleur gave this the nod. I like both. a bit of an exercise for new PS on new computer

If you don’t try you will never know Georgiana….I am a fan of minimal changes to original Images, so I would have to say that I prefer the original…If you like it, then that is all that matters!!!

I think I do prefer the original….but these things are fashionable so it seems, and at least I gave the new macbook a CS4 workout (in 43 degree heat I might add) does she need a whip do you think?
George Swann
To wake her up!!!....you poor things with this heat…the Aussie heatwave is a big story in today’s UK press..apparently yesterday was the hottest day in Adelaide for 70 years…2 degrees here this morning!!
Soxy Fleming! replied
well you are probably more comfortable than we are! absolutely stifling here

I like this….adds depth and a “story” – the viewer islooking at you through a window, rainy night, etc. It brings up more questions than without the layer, i.e. is a mystery, no?
Soxy Fleming! replied
thanks, nice reply….I like that. It was really just to try out CS4 on my new computer! but yes I think it has created more to think about. I seem to be hooked on red and blue/green. The original is more “pure classical” this one become story, you are right : ) love a bit of mystery

I think you need to get your windows cleaned, have you any idea just how hard it is to be a voyeur through dirty windows?
Soxy Fleming! replied
but then I might see you looking….

I see you did photoshop it. Original is still my fav but I DO love what you did with this. I want to do the CS4 trial too. I heard it has a big learning curve so I would love to hear your thoughts on it. Really like your site. Thanks for checking out mine.
Soxy Fleming! replied
I agree…..I like both. A good image is good to photoshop but it still remains a good image untouched. I’ll bmail to talk CS4
thanks for the nice words

I do like this one as well…. very different ,,, sounds like it was a loooooott of work!!!!
Soxy Fleming! replied
no it wasn’t really a lot of work. When I start things in PS they either go really quickly or I get into a terrible mess and discard them!
thanks for the comment
