Can you tell me about this? I understand its a pommegrannite but, just want to know what this means to you?
Soxy Fleming! replied
you say “a photo is never just a photo in my eyes”....so this photo can be what you want it to be. I’d be interested to know what you read into it.
For me – it came from a desire to explore darker things in my creativity, darker images and colours, though I didn’t have a particular story in mind. I just brought things together, looking at their colours and shapes. A fruit like this is irresistable, we rarely eat it but know of its link to mythology. It is also just plain beautiful.
Let me know how this image affects you, I would really like to know!

okay, well it looks real gothic, I for one love this fruit as living in Ireland they dont exist here yet in cyprus they grow everywhere (thats where I am from). So the fruit part brings to mind hot sunny days spent in Cyprus, and yet the picture being dark adds a sinister element to it, I can also see the word ‘so’ in the fruit which makes me think even deeper about the image, overall its an excellent composition, lightness and summer combined with darkness and shadow.

thankyou very much for that. We had thought there were letters there but hadn’t really built up an explanation like you have. I really like what you say. One thing I noticed in darkside one is that a shadow has been cast down the fingers so it looks like they all have rings.
I really apprecaite your comments, you have inspired me to work more in this area with darkness and symbolism!

yeh I see that too, I like your work and will follow it, I like people who explore their art and I think you do this briiliantly

Hi Georgiana, I can see a number on your pomegranate, looks like 50 and that’s my lucky number 2 years from now ;) I like the light, shadows and colours (low-key effect here) Well done!
Soxy Fleming! replied
thanks, I wasn’t using the exposure the camera wanted! and that gave me this result, thanks for looking

Make people think! I like it!

This is beautiful, Georgiana! Reminds me of Catherine of Aragon, who took the pomegranate as her symbol (ironically). Lovely work!
