A photograph taken early one morning from a canoe in the Amazon Jungle, Brazil. We had just finished Caimen (crocadile) spotting in the dark using torches, and had decided to float in our canoes in this wide part of the river. We sat there for hours and it was truly worth every minute… a moment in my life that I will never forget. The sky turned from a deep nightime blue to a brilliant orange for a few minutes, before turning to a daytime light blue.
As you can imagine, I ended up with many photos of the sunrise, and a small handfull came out perfectly. It was hard to keep focus as every time I moved, the little canoe that I was in wobbled. I didn’t particularly want to capsise as there were pirranah, caimen and anaconda swimming below.
