It is amazing how something as simple as a fallen tree can be so beautiful. Sometimes it just takes a second to stop and look around with open eyes, to see what beauty there is around us.
This photograph was taken in Savernake forest, in Witshire, England on a beautiful autumn morning.
I don’t know how you do this but it’s a stunner just like your others!!!! I want to sit here for a while…. I see some fern so it must be damp… And the sun casting its’ rays through the background, yup, a real stunner!!!!
Brenda, I am so fortunate that I have such an amazing location on my doorstep (Savernake Forest in Wiltshire, England). It is great all year, but there are a couple of weeks each autumn where it just becomes magical. In a blink, the colours change and winter creeps up and the magic hides away for another year. I am so glad you like the photograph, and I really do value your kind words. Thank you :o)
… paraphrasing Brenda… I don’t know either how you did this…. but I really DO want to know how !!!!. This is stunning !!! I am really curious, what post-processing, if any, have you used on this image.
cheers Roman
Hi Roman. Thank you so much for your great comment. The effect is achieved by merging a soft focus version of the photograph with a clear version using photoshop. I think it is called the “Orton” technique. I hope this helps.
This would be an amazing painting…But is an incredibly breathtaking photograph! I so envy your good fortune to experience such a place and to be able to share it with us. Utterly fantastic!
