I was born in England and migrated to Australia 1980. I have had a long interest in art and photography, having worked as an artist in the mid eighties. I decided I would like to take up photography seriously about 4 years ago and have just completed a diploma in professional photography with the New York Institute of Photography. I particularly like taking ‘street photos’ and have great admiration for some past and present greats in that area, ie Robert Doisneau whose quote “There are days when the technique of an aimless stroll – without timetable or destination works like a dream – flushing out pictures from the non-stop urban spectacle” . Recently I have begun to explore how photos can bring out a certain emotion or memory and hence i seem to be moving away from more traditional photography, ie landscapes etc. I particularly like the play of light and shadows on objects and the natural phenomenon of clouds, reflections, etc. I love producing a photo that people can enjoy or associate a fleeting memory with.

Exhibitions: ‘Wasteland’. Currently touring NSW

Have also exhibited with the APS in the Adelaide Show as a member of the APS.

Finalist in National Photographic competition: ‘Smile’

Won Australian Photographic Society Photo Competition: subject: Chairs and Benches with photo ‘Lonley Station’

Highly commended for photo in Print Division: The Window.

Photos printed in Latest australian Photography Society Magazine ‘Image’.

I am drawn more and more to photographing what happens on the streets..everyone is an ‘artist’. I am currently compiling photos for a book. “Let me Entertain You” on Street Performers.
