Alesund is a dilightful town in Norway. The town’s name, Alesund (spelled in Norwegian with a little circle over the A and pronounced “Ollesund”) means “eel sound”, reflecting the fact that the region was once a centre of eel fishing. Certainly. fishing and therefore boats have long been very important to the lives of its inhabitants. This small marina, one of several in the area, was shot with my Nikon D7000 during a cruise port call there this past summer (2012).
