Bare feet, and open mind by

Evidence outside the main church of Cao Dai that prayer time is well and truly underway. Dao Cai Dai is a convergence of Christianity, Buddhism, Taosim and Confucianism and is Vietnam’s third largest religon. The community comes alive at midday when the church bell tolls; summoning the masses for prayer. The colours of the robes, the Church and it’s altar are symbolic of the unison of all four faith’s. Whilst I don’t intentionally photograph images with the objective of conveying a deeper message; this shot spoke for itself. As a young girl, I was often told to remove my shoes and any headwear when entering a house as a guest. In this case, the church of -Dao Cao Dai(the supreme place where God reigns), one enters as a guest, with bare feet and an open mind.

About georgina1509

My camera has travelled with me across 3 continents and through 30 countries over the past 16 years. It has been by my side when I’ve met British Royalty, political figures, sorcerers and the humble street beggar. I have photographed according to my emotions and it has offered me a creative outlet to suit on each occassion, each high and every low. It has provided a starting point for many a conversation but has captured a lifetime of memories that I hope my children will one day continue.
