Spring by Georgie Hart

The season, that is.

Even in the early days of spring optimistic pedestrians stepped out in open-toed shoes. The lurid colours of seasonal marketing emerged in prominent billboard advertising, reflected here in the wet pavement between tram tracks (which remained slippery for most of the following weeks).

After what has felt like an almost eternal winter, the steamy days of summer are now setting in as the spring that almost never was draws to a close. There have been at least a few warm, clear, pleasant days though, thankfully.

How good is this! Your hyper-sensitive internal eye at work again Georgie; and the shoes, fine footware for a rainy day. Superb anticipation.

  • Thanks heaps Rhoufi! I saw the colours in the pavement (this is Bourke Street Mall, outside Myer) and stood there, stalking my prey, til someone stepped into frame…

    What a dazzling image!!..exquisite colours!!…Another brilliant creation Georgie…!!!

  • haha thanks M, I realized it’s almost the end of the season and I wanted a ‘spring’ to go with my ‘autumn’ and ‘winter’ – felt a rain-soaked image summed up this spring!

The color on the pavement is so amazing…wish I could still wear shoes like that : ) My feet just can’t take it anymore.

  • It was certainly fluorescent advertising – made for striking reflections! Thanks for your wonderful comments Lynn – I don’t wear such shoes either and am often staggered by the sharp points others manage to teeter around on.
