New Lightweight Hoodies. Great for laziness, business, or any other -ness.

Hi there. I’m Georgie, or G, and I’m easily distracted by strange details, seductive lines and shapely objects in the world at large. Oh and colours, shadows, rich or unusual light, fascinating characters, creatures, natural features… the list goes on. Along with eyeing off stuff that might make an interesting photo I love to play with words.

I photograph anything that catches my eye, generally leaning towards the outdoors and the natural world, but I’ve been finding street photography and abstract views of Melbourne more and more absorbing of late, particularly since the advent of the Shot in the Heart of Melbourne annual exhibition. I love heading into town with my camera and wandering around in search of interesting sights, and have developed a new appreciation for my city thanks to photography. I use both a Nikon D7000 and Lumix TZ11.

My mother has been similarly inspired by RB and her wonderful work is here.

Slow Stroll on a Brisk Day

Last Saturday, with several other enthusiastic snappers, I grabbed my camera and stalked the streets, laneways and arcades of a resolutely chilly Melbourne. Happily, the wintry weather caused many to delve deep into their wardrobes and bring out their brightest colours, complementing the vivid reflections we were treated to on the wet streets at the end of the night. / Centre Place was a bustlin…

Have Camera, Will Walk

Yesterday I had the pleasure of wandering around part of the CBD and the Royal Botanic Gardens with Rhoufi, Christine and John, and although it was a rather grey day we found quite a few photo ops… / Uh oh… is that rain? /   /   / Yep – where’s a rainbow umbrella when you need one? /   /   / We checked out the comely angles of the Sidney Myer Music Bowl…
