The Long Weekend... thanks to the Queen's Birthday
Some of you had to work this long weekend, like I usually do (but didn’t!!!!!), but for the rest of you that had Saturday’s Drawing Day to draw, Sunday to relax and Monday to hang out anywhere you like, I hope it you all had fun! I know we did!
My son and I went to the beach yesterday. It was cold, slightly windy and wet…. but only wet from the knees down (for me… my son sat in the water fully clothed!!). The water wasn’t cold surprisingly. I thought it’d be freezing. I know people say that the water is warmer in Winter than it is in Summer, but I’ve never really believed them until now. Maybe it’s cos we’re cold already!! Next time I’ll be rolling my jeans up!!!
I only took a few hundred photos… you know the usual… sandcastle, sky, birds, clouds, sea, waves, sand, then all again including my child!!! This afternoon or tonight I’ll upload one or two. After I’ve done my homework for tafe.
Question Why is it that on weekends, especially long weekends, kids wake up early every day. Then on the day they have to go back to school, they sleep late? Practicing being a teenager do you think? And mine’s only 9 years old (10 next month).
;D

be happy… when they are teens they never get out of bed!

ha ha ha!!! I shouldn’t laugh… I still remember what my brother’s room was like as a teenager. Smelly, messy and he was always lying around on his bed reading!!! I used to just draw all the time but was ever so moody. hmmm. I’d better watch out!!!

uuurrrggghhh, 7am risings for us on weekends. 8.55am on weekdays – always late for kinder and creche!
“Mummy, get up. Moooommm (she says in her best American accent) get up Mom”.
translates into
“C’mon Robyn, hurry up, eat your breakfast, c’mon, get dressed – nope, no tv this morning, where’s your shoes? Get your bag …”
Look forward to seeing your photos!!

who is it that sleeps late? Robyn or Mum? ha ha … sounds just like our house!!! You can add ‘are you going to school in your pjamas?’ to all that!!!

Hey there. I’ve actually taken her to creche in her jammies a few times because she’s flatly refused to get dressed (and the lovely, wonderful people up there have said they are very happy to dress her for me). It seems funny having her walk in with her dressing gown on and her whopping bit lambie slippers on her feet.

At least at kindy they don’t get laughed at by the other kids be being in their pjs. Grade 4 kids aren’t as kind!!! Zac has one friend though, who changes into his Auntie’s pjs and fluffy bunny slippers at OSHC. Nobody blinks an eyelid… so maybe he could to go school in his pjs after all!!!

I guess sometimes some kids can get away with just about anything. If the perception is that “they’re just like that” then the kids accept it. Next year Robyn is going to a little country school where the culture is HUGELY accepting. It’s a wonderful little school with an amazing social atmosphere. So, if it ever needs to happen (but hopefully we’re past that stage) it won’t matter that she’s a little eccentric.

ha ha ha!!! Nothing wrong with being eccentric! She’s obviously and up and coming artist!!!
