Photoshop tip for increasing photo size. 3724 views at 17 February 2013

At the risk of being accused of “teaching Grandma to suck eggs” I would like to share this tip with fellow Photoshop users on the Bubble. Some will doubtless be aware of it, I know.

There are times when the photo you want to upload is not of sufficiently high enough resolution to be displayed as a laminated or framed print. Here’s what you do:

With photo on screen go to IMAGE>Image size>Document size. Set it for percentage and make the value 110. Click OK and your photo will increase in size. Repeat this 3 or 4 times then hit SAVE and check the picture resolution. The ideal figure is around 1.5 megabytes so keep repeating the process until you get there. For some unknown reason you have now increased the resolution without causing any pixellation and this is great if you have a photo you want to make into an A4 or even A3 print. It works like a charm!

I have made this process into an Action and assigned it to one of the Function keys so all I have to do is to click away at that key a few times and my picture is right for printing in large size.

Good luck,
Peter
