The view down the Indian Ocean coast of Western Australia from Perth’s northern suburbs area of Jindalee. This was taken at about 11.45 this morning, 1st February by which time the temperature had already climbed to around 34 degrees on it’s way to a maximum of 38. I was using my new Sony A77 with a 16-80 Carl Zeiss lens. I was in aperture priority and had forgotten to attach an nd filter. I was in Camera RAW mode.

Very nice Peter, could do with a walk on that beach
though it might take abit of effort atm, sure is something special about a great ocean scene
    cheers Rick

  • Hi Rick – good to see you again. Many thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment but I’m a bit concerned why you say it would be an effort “at the moment”. I hope you are not unwell.
    Best wishes

Stunning capture Peter – this could so easily be a painting. Such deep colours !

  • Very many thanks Roy.. I took a leaf out of your book and finally got round to shooting RAW. Took a while to figure out how to open the file and then how to convert it for RB. I used Image Data Converter – perhaps not as comprehensive as Light Room but quite good enough for what I want.

Lovely beach scene, Peter! Terrific colours.

  • Thanks David. As I was telling Roy I decided to have a go at RAW – first time in ages, Now I won’t be shooting so many at a time it’s the ideal opportunity to get used to it.

Hi Peter, great looking beach you have here you can tell it’s in England because no Ice cream sellers or deck chair renters, and deferentially no shit and chips, that’s why I love it.

    Regards Mike & Fave

  • Hiya Mike and many thanks. I know what you mean and it conjures up visions of men in deckchairs sprawled out in the sun and wearing collars and ties!!
    All the best

    Excellent picture Peter. Fabulous colours.

  • Very many thanks John. I might stick with RAW for a while to try and get used to it – I’ve only ever used it at odd times in the past.

Gosh Peter this is a stunning shot, wish we had that weather here at the moment

  • Good morning Malcolm and very many thanks. This was a typical February day – roasting hot whilst we wait patiently for the sea breeze (known as the Fremantle Doctor) to come in and cool us down a tad.
    Cheers my friend

Absolutely beautiful capture with all the different palette of blues…. Wow !

  • You’re very generous Corinne – thank you very much for these kind words. All I do is point the camera at a scene I like the look of whereas you have the talent and ability to actually paint it. That I definitely could not do.
    Take care
