I found this lying around at Mt Whaleback! This particular truck was valued at $2.5 million in 1973 and was sold to the Visitor Centre for $1! When fully loaded it weighs 75 tonnes more than the take off weight of a 747 jumbo jet. The tyres measure up to 3.5 metres in diameter and each one weighs up to 5 tonnes with the rims inserted. Tyres cost $30,000 each and last between 9-12 months!
