Beautiful Tasmania - The pond at The Lodge by

Our stay at Cradle Mountain was at The Lodge and we were in very comfortable log cabins complete with all mod cons, en suites, log fires, etc. etc. Meals, socialising etc all took place in the main building and there was nothing at all that could be faulted. It was excellent.
A bonus, though, was when we opened the blinds in the morning and got this view. The sun was rising behind us and the scene we saw was pure magic. I stepped out on to the balcony and took this and many other photos to make the most of the moment.

A wopnderful sight to greet the morning, what an excellent time you seemed to have had Peter – this makes me want to travel there :)

  • We have a fantastic time Mik – everything is so beautiful with a lot of similarities to dear old England.
    Very many thanks indeed.

What a bonus indeed ..beautiful view Peter – Love it xx

  • It certainly was a great scene to wake up to – very alpine. Also going all around it made for a great pre breakfast walk (it’s further than it looks) Many thanks Gail.
    Take care

Beautiful capture Pete, it must have been a magical moment for you.

    Cheers Jude

  • Thanks Jude. I’d seen it the previous evening by which time the sun had gone down over the hills so it didn’t look anything special. What woke me this morning though was the sound of the Currawongs (the local crow like birds) tapping on the window. I’ll stick a photo of one on here some time.
    Cheers

Wonderful to have these memories to take with you Peter – lovely depth of field here !

  • Hi Roy and many thanks. I didn’t think until afterwards that I hadn’t set a particularly intelligent aperture for this shot. With the sun getting up a lot of the scene was in shadow and I was probably getting carried away by that because I took about 6 or 7 shots and by the time I did this one everything was bright! Needless to say it never entered my mind to change the setting! LOL So your comments on the depth of field go down extrremely well!
    Cheers
    Peter
