The total population of Bruny Island’s Adventure Bay is but 125 people, some of whom live in this idyllic location looking out across the bay to the hills beyond. But spare a thought for the housewife who might have to do the weekly shopping – she has to drive just over 40 kms to the ferry, queue up to drive her car on and pay the not inconsiderable fee, do all of her shopping needs, hope she hasn’t forgotten anything before catching the ferry back and driving the 40+ kms home. Virtually a full day. Then, if the family need the services of a doctor well, there aint one! The nearest is on the mainland so imagine how long it would take to get him out to you! There IS a nurse and a ambulance however, so that’s something. I guess the islanders make their own fun!
