Another of our little known Western Australian bays is this one at Wyadup, some 8 or 9 kms off Caves Road which is the main connecting road between Dunsborough and Augusta. It’s about 280 or so kms south of Perth and fronts the (usually) wild waters of the Indian Ocean. It is in the Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park and also on the famed Cape to Cape walking trail. If you think the outcrop just across the bay looks familiar that’s because it is the much better known Canal Rocks – a couple of kms away as the crow flies but about 15/20 kms by road.
I took this rather late in the first afternoon of my recent holiday and scored the full benefit of the wonderful light from the slowly sinking sun on my left. I used my 16.2 mps Sony A55V dslr, 16-80 Carl Zeiss lens in aperture priority (f11) and nd filter attached. I was hand holding the camera.
