This was one of the first photos I took with my Sony DSC R1 back in June 2006 – which was mid winter here in Guilderton, Western Australia, on the Indian Ocean about 100 kms north of Perth. We visit here a lot and even in mid summer, when the township is crowded, this section of beach is almost always deserted. I used the AUTO setting for these first few photos while I got used to the weight and feel of the new camera – anyone who has ever used the R1 will know just how heavy it is!

I would love to be sitting in that water today Peter … such a beautiful scene … picture perfect♥

  • Good morning Bev and very many thanks. It’s been pretty hot here, too, but right now we’re enjoying a slightly cooler spell (around 30 deg) for a few days. I’m going away on Friday for a couple of weeks – no exotic locations this time, though. Shall just be touring around the south west of WA and taking things easy.
    Take care

Such a beautiful scene and gives the viewer a very peaceful viewing.. Excellent.

  • Hi Carol and very many thanks. For mid winter this was a VERY calm day indeed – usually that ocean is pretty rough along this stretch of shoreline.

Super picture, Peter. It’s snowing hard here and there’s another 40cm coming in tonight!

  • Thanks mate. Sorry to hear about your snow – we’ve seen it on out TV. It won’t help you to know that we are sweltering and running short of clothes to take off! LOL
    Cheers
