I have already told how the seaplane landed on Lake Talbot (sometimes referred to as Talbot Bay) and we transferred to a pontoon before boarding a cruise boat for a cooked breakfast whilst cruising this magnificent lake. At one point (pictured) we landed for a brief shore excursion before boarding the high powered jet boat for the exciting ride back across the lake and through the roaring waters of Horizontal Falls. By the time I took this photo it would have been getting on for 8.00am. There was still a little morning mist in the air but all the signs pointed towards another hot day. Talbot Bay is in the Kimberley region right up in the extreme north west of Western Australia slightly less than 3000 kms from Perth and on the map is slightly south east of Koolan Island. Definitely NOT the place to be during the cyclone season! This day, though, was as near perfect as it’s possible to be – idyllic would be a better word I’m thinking. I was hand holding my Sony R1, still in aperture priority on f11 with the ISO at 200 and with the nd4 filter firmly in place.
