Katherine Gorge – in the Nitmiluk National Park is close to the town of Katherine in Australia’s Northern Territory. It is in 5 sections and in order to cruise the entire length people have to disembark the cruise boat and walk across rocks – sometimes over 500 metres distance – to where a boat a waiting to take you through the next section, and so on. We did the first two sections (and that took 2 hours) and I have to say it was sheer heaven! Absolutely fabulous and definitely a tour highlight.
This scene was shot whilst we were walking between section one and two and gives a good indication as to the type of scenery that is on offer throughout the cruise.
As always on this trip I was hand holding my Sony DSC R1 in aperture priority on f8 with an nd4 filter attached.
