More accurately this should be titled Cruisin UP the River because we went up before we came back down! LOL The river is the Frankland at Nornalup, near Walpole in the southwest of Western Australia about 450 kms south of Perth. The time of year was autumn and, in that season the four hour cruise runs out of Walpole just one day a week. The Frankland River is part of the Walpole Nornaluip National Park which was gazetted in September 1910 when it was declared an area of outstanding natural beauty and has grown steadily ever since.
The tour is run by WOW Wilderness Tours who also operate a most delightful (and hilarious) morning cruise of the Nornalup Inlet virtually every day of the year excepting Christmas Day and the occasions when bad weather would affect the enjoyment and safety of all concerned.
