These rapids are on the Swan River as it races through the Walyunga National Park, some 80 kms north of Perth, Western Australia. A few days ago this was the scene of much drama during the 2 day Avon descent – a white water event that attracts adventurers from around the world.

I really like the natural frame here on this shot. The foam of the water almost looks like snow. Cheers, S.

  • Hi Sandra and many thanks. It’s only about 60 kms from home yet for some reason we seldom get up here. Probably because for 9 months of the year it is just a trickle. Peter

I love the way you composed this one. The colors are very nice, too. Great one, Peter!

  • No hugs today!! I’m devastated! Oh well, shall just have to bear up I guess! Although actually I’m still recovering from the gazillion million! Now I’ve forgotten what I was going to say. It’ll come to me but meantime very many thanks for the visit and I’m glad that you like it. It’s a glorious place and the noise is intense! Hugs, Peter

    Oooo, lovely!

  • Does that mean you like it then? LOL Thanks mate. This is where the Avon Descent was held over last weekend and you wouldn’t have got me into a kayak in that water for quids! But it’s nice to be there just looking at the water. Peter
