Now what's that youngster up to... by

She wasn’t concerned about us, being far more interested in what mischief her joey was getting up to a few yards away. This was taken whilst we were on a bush walk out in the wild just yesterday afternoon (3 June) The place was Yanchep, Western Australia, some 50 kns north of Perth and only about 6 kms from the Indian Ocean

Thanks John. Gives you a momentary shock when you round a bend and are suddenly confronted with one or two of these! Peter

You know I love kangaroos and this is a beauty.

  • You are sounding more like an Aussie every day mate! Now you’ve got to learn to say Dinky Di and Fair Dinkum!! LOL Peter

Okay, Dinky Di and Fair Dinkum. It may sound Aussie but I have no clue as to what that means.

  • Oooh, you shouldn’t say things unless you know what they mean!! LOL No problem as it happens, you haven’t compromised yourself! Just off for lunch – will explain these expressions after that. peter

Fabulous capture Peter you have really caught her personality here :D Hugs, Tai x

  • Thanks Tai. Actually we didn’t see her at first – it was her joey that caught our eye but she was in the shade and I couldn’t get a decent photo. It was only then that I spotted mum here!! Peter

    Great capture!!!

  • Hi Helen and very many thanks. There are hundreds of kangaroos in our national park and I guess they are so used to seeing people with cameras they don’t normally bat an eyelid. We might just as well not have been there as far as this lady was concerned. Peter
