Two months since the last update!

I can’t believe that two months have passed by since my last update. Now it’s only just over 3 weeks to wait till the Tassie trip – yee haa!

So many of you have written requesting news and I have tried to reply to everyone but please forgive me if I’ve left YOU out. It was certainly unintentional. Actually there’s not a heck of a lot to tell you. The treatment – a two day dose of chemo every other Wednesday – sounds as though it’s an ongoing thing for as long as I want. They have upped the dose to maximum now that my errant blood count seems to have sorted itself out – there are a few side effects from that, the worst being mouth ulcers. But as they only last for about a week they are not really a problem. I am due another CT scan a couple of days after getting back from the trip.

As mentioned previously I am living at home again and quite enjoying knocking up meals of varying quality (?) for myself. As a man was not born to do mundane things like housework I have applied for – and got – home help in the form of a young lady who visits alternative Mondays to mop floors, vaccuum around the place etc. Her major virtue is that she is one of the very few people on this planet who don’t turn their nose up at my coffee! (I can’t stand it myself actually so drink tea instead – and at that I am an expert!)

I recently enjoyed a week away down south and had the time of my life going up and down long flights of steps to our gorgeous beaches, where I would walk for miles, clamber over rocks etc. etc. Oh yes, and even take the odd photo or two. I won’t mention the nudist beach I accidentally stumbled upon!

So there you have it. I feel 100%, have put most of the lost weight back on again and am rarin’ to get to Tasmania! At the insistence of my eldest son I have also booked myself an 8 day tour of Australia’s mysterious Arnhem Land early in June and am REALLY looking forward to that!

So, unless anything REALLY dramatic happens, I’ll make this the final update. It just remains for me to thank each and every one of you for your incredible support, encouragement and prayers over the past 6 months. More than anything else it has been this that has played the major role in seeing me through all the various traumas etc and getting me back on track. Now you are faced with having to see all my photos again – and you’ve only got yourselves to blame!! LOL

Love and best wishes to you all
Peter

Hi Peter my old friend. I have to admit that when I saw you had written this journal I opened it with trepidation and quickly scan read it first. What I read filled me with joy and I shouted out BLOODY BRILLIANT!

This is the best news you could have given to all your fiends out here in Redbubble land.

Make sure you pack lots of memory cards for your impending trip and more importantly make sure you fill them! I am looking forward to more of your wonderful images in the months and years to come.

  • You’ve always been a good fiend John LOL – thanks a million for these great words mate and I can’t tell you how good it feels to be back in the swing of things once again. Now it’s Roll On Tassie – just over 3 weeks to go!
    All the best
    Peter

So good to see that POSITVE ATTITUDE reaping it’s rightful deserves Peter, I am sure you are really looking forward to Tasmania more than words can say and I just know you will have a wonderful trip. We will be back in Spain again before you know it, spending our little Grandson’s first birthday with him and the family, we just got word that he started walking today so as you can imagine, Chris is on cloud nine. Anyway Peter, just like to say again, we are so thrilled for you and you are a shining example to so many of us, you so deserve the forthcoming trips and I know that excited might be an understatement of how you are feeling about them, keep smiling mate and of course, continued best of health to you,
    Kind Regards,
    Rod and Chris.

  • Hi Rod and Chris and thanks so very much for this and, indeed, for ALL the support etc you’ve given me over the past few months. You will never know how much it has helped me through this period of my life and I shall be forever grateful to you both.
Right now the two trips are the uppermost things in my mind and luckily the time is just flying by
I hope you both have a great time with your family in Spain and it’s wonderful to be able to attend your grandson’s first birthday. We went to the first of all of ours and always look back on them as being extra special.
All the best and sincere thanks once again
    Peter

Great to hear of your continuing recovery Peter – you sound so positive too and that is so important ! Keep up the good work, great photos and medication !

  • Hi Roy and very many thanks old buddy. I have to admit that there are times when I have to remind myself to slow down, but then I stop and think, “What the hell!” and carry on as normal.
Look after yourself and I’ll be back in touch very shortly.
    Regards
    Peter
