Bragging again
Forgive me, please, but I am tickled pink that my 16 year old grandson Jake has just become the Western Australian state champion in his class at Go Karting – something he’s been doing since he was 8. He was runner up on a couple of occasions when in the Junior class and has never been placed lower than 3rd, so he’s really chuffed about this (So’s his dad! LOL)

Please welcome Marita
To all the ex Webshotters now happily “living” here in RB, you’ll be delighted to know that Marita has just today joined us. You don’t need me to tell you how popular Marita is with everyone and I strongly urge you to check out the photos she has so far uploaded. To those who don’t know her, please pay her a visit and give her a warm RB welcome….
Another old friend joins RB
Would you please give a warm welcome to bigdaddy8×14 (Ken for short) – another old friend from Webshots who many of us remember with affection.
Ken can be found right here
Thanks all
Peter

Click on Window>Actions in Photoshop and this will open your Actions palette. About half way …
Resizing photos taken with a digital camera.
Most photos that come out of digital cameras these days are pretty big (in physical dimensions) and it is often necessary to reduce the size without any loss of quality. This is because the default setting is 72ppi which is low resolution and really only suitable for photos that will be viewed on screen. It’s too low for us to get high quality results when it comes to printing them out.

Using the Lightness Channel to create a grayscale image
Most Bubblers are pretty well clued up on making B/W images but here’s something that is a cut above the grayscale conversion that a lot of folk do.
I found this tutorial in an article by Scott Kelby and have quoted freely from it in this Journal entry.
This method of converting an RGB image to grayscale lets you isolate just the luminosity in the photo and separating out the colour. By doing…
Rod
A note to all the friends of Rod (rodsfotos, chrisrod100)
Yesterday I had an email from his wife, Chris, to say that Rod had just suffered a heart attack. Happily he is OK but quite obviously it will be a while before he is back commenting on our works and displaying his own wonderful photos.
I shall be forwarding all comments to Chris so that both she and Rod will be able to see the aff…
