Ellenbrook Beach
Tucked away on the south west corner of Western Australia is Ellenbrook House, quite historic in Western Australia as it was home to one of the early settlers in the area and is now open to the public. They had what almost amounted to their private beach but which is now accessed by a fairly good bitumen road, although it doesn’t seem to attract all that many visitors. This would be something over 300 kms south of Perth
Ellenbrook Beach belongs to the following groups:

Actually the south west of WA, which is where I take most of my pictures, has just been included in Lonely Planet’s list of the world’s top 10 tourist destinations – so you definitely will have to come over!! Take care. Peter

What a gorgeous beach Peter! and the weather….well!! I could warm my cold toes up there lol!!
georgieboy98 replied
Not right now you couldn’t!! LOL I took this back in March, although we were there again just a couple of weeks ago. That water will be pretty chilly now. Glad you like it though – many thanks. Peter

this is a super shot Peter, and here we are, rain, wind, cold, lucky you.LOL Hugs.x

It’s been windy here lately – cold southerlies, straight off the Antarctic. But at long last it is starting to warm up and I’ve no doubt that before long we’ll be up in the high 30’s once again. That’s a lovely comment Catherine – thanks hon. Hugs, Peter.
PS Great to see Rod is posting photos again eh?

How I’d like to be there right now Peter, as Catherine said, rain, wind and cold here, the absence of crowds is also a big attraction for me, beautifully photographed as always,
Regards, Rod.

Many thanks Rod, but right now it would be definitely rather chilly! And when we were there a couple of weeks ago the beach was deserted – a far cry from when we took this back in March and it was crowded, as you can see!
All the best old friend. Peter

aA beautiful beachscape Peter and there’s actually people on it. LOL.
georgieboy98 replied
My word yes – it was packed that day – and behind me as I took this was a group of surfies who had been having fun in the waves about half a mile back up the coast. People everywhere there were! LOL
Thanks for the visit and nice words.

I havent been in there since it was four wheel drive and the house wasnt open, the house had a most yummy mulberry tree, ate about twenty kilo,s. Thanks for the memory jog Peter!
georgieboy98 replied
I seem to think I read somewhere that the house can be visited by appointment. I know we went there once about 30 years ago and somewhere I will still have the photos I took on that occasion. They must get a few visitors to the beach because once you get past the turning to the house the road becomes one way – a bit like the road into and out of Bunker Bay. Regards, Peter

Looks lovely Peter.

Many thanks TeAnne. It’s even better when it’s rough and stormy! Peter
TeAnne
Do you have pics of that?
georgieboy98 replied
Sadly I don’t – when we saw it like that it was raining hard and no way was I going to take my camera out in that!
Marita Sutherlin
Time for a picknick, definitely! All these stunning beaches, I never tire of these views!
georgieboy98 replied
This is another of those virtually unknown beaches where – just a hundred yards up the track – the surfies reign supreme!
TeAnne
Fully understandable Peter.

My mother grew up on a tiny little island in Norway calle Karmøy. There is a beach on the island in Akre that looks quite identical to this (beleive it or not!). I was there as a youth and remember it well.

I love your photo of this spot and I do see what you mean. The big difference would be if you could turn my photo round and get a view from the same angle as this of yours all you would see behind the beach would be trees and scrub and absolutely no sign at all of human habitation!
