West Bay, Esperance
From the roadside car parking area we look down on West Bay and out across the Southern Ocean and the Recherche Archipelago. Hard to believe we are just a couple of minutes drive from the busy town centre. Esperance is about 750 kms south of Perth, Western Australia and slightly less than 350 kms south of Kalgoorlie and the goldfields, for which it serves as the number one holiday destination.

Thanks Mik. Seeing all these again is giving me itchy feet to make a return visit, even though they were only taken a few months ago! Peter

Agree the different blues are amazing. Like the poles in the fg too. John

Many thanks John. They tell me it can get rough down there but I’ve never seen that! Would make for some spectacular photos though! Peter

Esperance sure does have a variety of blues in the water…..I think it goes with the whiter than white beaches !!
georgieboy98 replied
Hi Steve. It’s a place we never tired of and, like Kalbarri, we wish it were just a little bit closer to home! Thanks for the visit. Peter

WOW this is beautiful – love the colours in the water

Thanks very much Susan. This is just one of a dozen or more beaches within easy distance of the town centre. Peter

Great capture of what I think are the best beaches in the world. Best part about them there is usually no one there, you can just about have the whole beach to yourself!
georgieboy98 replied
Thanks Hicksy and you’re dead right – they ARE the best beaches in the world. Regards, Peter
Shaun Whiteman
Will you put some shots of rain and clouds up, I am getting depressed!!! Lovely shot mate!
georgieboy98 replied

Great shot, I recognised the place from the thumbnail. I have some shots of the same place. White sand blue sea!
georgieboy98 replied
Hi Dennis and I’m very pleased to meet you. Thanks for the visit and the kind words and I would be very interested to see your photos. From your thumbails I see you have photos of WA so would you care to join our new Western Australia group? The only rules are the photos must be taken in WA (with a suitably descriptive caption) and no more than three uploads a day. All best wishes, Peter

Absolutely beautiful again Peter, the ocean colours from dark blue to aqua marine are so attractive and that beautiful beach devoid of people looks the place to be, great work my friend even though you are teasing me with that Paradise location,
Regards, Rod.
georgieboy98
Teasing you? Now would I do a thing like that? Especially after seeing your Polperro photo! Many thanks for the kind words and a visit from you is always a highlight. Best wishes, Peter

So love the beautiful blue water over your way Peter. Hear there’s lots of sharks in those waters though, understandable then that there are no people on the beach and in water…....

A young lad was mauled by a shark while surfing at Whartons Beach in the Cape Le Grande National park near Esperance a year or two ago. Most of the other incidents have been off our Perth beaches, although there was one at Albany about a year ago.. Glad you like the photo though! Peter
