Action at the riverside
The scene on the banks of Albany’s King River, 450 kms south of Perth, Western Australia. The gull taking off was a bonus because I hadn’t seen him – all my attention was focused on the roo and I was willing him to stay there!! In the event he lost interest and started munching at what little grass there was. I had to do a fair bit of cloning out here because he was partly hidden by the bush on the right. In the background is Oyster Harbour where earlier that day we had enjoyed a cruise that also went up the neighbouring Kalgan River

This is weird because I replied to this comment and that doesn’t show up either! Anyway, very many thanks for dropping in and being the first to comment. Peter
Catherine Veal
great capture Peter and of the bird, an all round good pic.hugs x
georgieboy98 replied
Thanks very much Catherine. I’m thinking it might have been better had I left the kangaroo alone – at least you would have seen his head and shoulders poking round the side of the bush!! Hugs, Peter

a nice bit of action by the riverside Peter – were you on one of your walks?
georgieboy98 replied
LOL – not on this occasion. We were returning from – strangely enough – Little Beach where I had taken the photo just bought by Anne-Marie. We thought this looked a nice place to pull in for a cuppa (we carry a thermos and tea bags with us – LOL) and then had a stroll round. A very pleasant pull in. Peter

Another cracker Peter, the roo is perfectly placed and didn’t it pose well for you, that gull taking off was indeed a wonderful bonus but I often feel you make your own luck in photography as in so many other things, beautifully captured,
Regards, Rod.
georgieboy98 replied
Very many thanks Rod and you are so right about making your own luck because this entire scene was just that. On it’s own the scene would have been very nice but the fact that the roo was there was what attracted me to the shot and, of course, the bird obliged very nicely and with perfect timing!! Peter

Nice scene Peter. The wild life add to it too. John
georgieboy98 replied
Thanks very much John. If you know Albany this is just beside the bridge across the King River on the Nanarup/Two Peoples Bay road. Peter

Woow……… Peter you are a true master! I have said this many times!! And meant it. This one is a other magic shot to proof it.

Thanks very much Hans and it’s great to see you back in action again. I can understand how you need a break from it all every now and again – I’m the same! All best wishes old friend, Peter

Hi Peter, love Rue! Classic Aus shot. I think it’s amazing these animals are all over the place. I was wondering, do the people eat Rue? If they do what does it taste like? It’lll probably put a spring in your step I should imagine. LOL> Don.
georgieboy98 replied
Pardon me if I groan! But thanks anyway!! And to answer your question YES, roo meat is eaten but I haven’t a clue what it tastes like. Peter
Meeli Sonn
Very stunning capture of roo. They are curious there?
georgieboy98 replied
Thanks very much Meeli. This roo was obviously used to seeing people around and was not unduly bothered by my presence. On our local golf course the “resident” roos don’t take the slightest bit of notice of us, but sometimes some “outsiders” come in from the bush for water and they will hop off at high speed as soon as they see us in the distance! Peter

A stunning capture Peter !

Thanks Colin – very much. Regards, Peter
Evita
Fabulous capture!! :D
georgieboy98 replied
Thanks very much Evita, both for the comment and the fave. We live way out of the city and kangaroos are virtually our neighbours. I have the job of cleaning up every morning after they have been on our front lawn during the nights! Peter.
