Flora on the cliff top
The scene at Prevelly Beach, 7 or 8 minutes west of Margaret River township on the Indian Ocean coast of Western Australia some 350 kms south of Perth. We hadn’t expected to find any wildflowers still blooming so were pleasantly surprised to find not only these but also – in another area close by – masses of them
.
Flora on the cliff top belongs to the following groups:
Australian Native Plants, Scenery and UK to Australia and Back Available for sale asGreeting Cards, Laminated Prints and Framed Prints

Thanks very much Pauline and you were pretty quick off the mark! We thought the wildflower season was over but had forgotten that they are always that bit later the further south you go. Peter

A beautiful coastal scene Peter, the wildflowers in the foreground are a welcome bonus with that splash of extra colour, are they pink sea thrift like we get in the Westcountry?
Wonderful light, depth and very well captured,
Regards, Rod.
georgieboy98 replied
Hi Rod and many thanks for the great comment. The pink flower is actually Pigface and it also comes in yellow. It is, in fact, a weed although it would grace any garden because it is a delightful flower to look at. I took a close up photo that I’ll upload as soon as I can find it! LOL Best wishes, Peter

Colourful flora Peter. There seem no trees to be around is that right?
georgieboy98 replied
It’s mostly coastal scrub here Jay and it’s amazing that anything grows because this is totally exposed to the prevailing south westerlies and all the storms. This is one of the reasons why the surf is so good and why several all Australian championships have been held here..
